JAYHO: LOCALS ONLY

Smooth music with not-so-smooth rap. The novelty of more funk/R&B-focused music with what's almost certainly cheeky delivery just to play up the chintz wears thin quickly. I've grown weary of rappers who use the smoother musical conventions to grate against their rougher rap delivery. In this situation, the disparate relationship between the production and the rapper is just grating on the ears. So much so even the uneven mastering becomes noticeable. Not so much that the "quality" is terrible, per se. But the amalgamation of everything makes this an unappealing album for me.
